CONTROL ON RENTAL PRICES

FROM TOMORROW 09/22/2020 THE NEW LAW ON THE PRICE OF RENTALS IN CATALONIA IS APPLIED.

This morning the Law was published in the DOGC that aims to stop the rise in the price of rents in 60 municipalities called “tense housing market”. Broadly speaking, it does not allow the rent price increase when renewing or making a new contract but there are some exceptions related to the income that the landlord has and his living unit and the price of the previous contract. It also “complicates” the drafting of the contract since it must be accompanied by the document of indexation of the rental prices expressed in € / m2.
